RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX looking for an experienced Network Administrator III to work onsite in a direct hire position.
Essential Functions:
* Network Administrator III will be responsible for planning, forecasting, and implementing network systems and resources
* Leads network architecture design and engineering, supervises global infrastructure maintenance, and provides technical mentorship
* Acts as the highest escalation point for network issues across private and public domains
* Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends strategic improvements while developing and enforcing best practices
* Leads evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies
* Develops strategic roadmaps aligned with business goals
* Oversees project planning, risk mitigation, and contingency strategies
* Implements monitoring and configuration management for proactive operations
* As a Network Administrator III, you will perform performance tuning and capacity planning
* Architects secure, high-availability hybrid network solutions
* Configures and optimizes enterprise-grade infrastructure (Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
* Manages cloud networking components (VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, etc.)
* Develops automation scripts and templates for IaaC deployments
* Supports WAN, LAN, and Data Center technologies
* Serves as technical lead and escalation point
* Mentors team members and oversees complex projects
* Maintains network diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and inventories
* Ensures documentation meets compliance standards
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
* CCNP, CCNA, Fortinet NSE4+, Azure Networking Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CCIE, CompTIA Network+ preferred
* 8+ years of experience required; 10+ years preferred
* 3+ years of experience with Azure network services or equivalent public cloud platforms
* 1-2 years of experience with vendor evaluations, pilots, and enterprise implementations preferred
* Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, VPN/IPSec, NAT, 802.1X, and secure remote access
* Expertise in hybrid network architectures integrating on-prem data centers with public cloud (e.g., Azure)
* Proficient in Azure networking components: VNets, VPN Gateways, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Application Gateways, Azure Firewall, hub-and-spoke architecture
* Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Cisco hardware
* Advanced firewall configuration and troubleshooting across platforms
* Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), L2/L3 architecture, QoS, and policy-based routing
* Skilled in WAN/LAN/MAN technologies including MPLS, ELAN, DIA, LTE
* Scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible
Communication & Collaboration:
* Clear communicator across verbal, written, and presentation formats
* Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Influences and advises partners and leadership
* Adapts to dynamic environments and reconciles stakeholder feedback
Analytical Skills:
* Diagnoses complex technical issues and determines corrective actions
* Interprets data and metrics to assess system performance
* Applies discovery and design thinking to develop business cases
Organizational Skills:
* Manages multiple projects and shifting priorities
* Synthesizes information to identify root causes
* Maintains documentation and SOPs; recommends process improvements
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
