We are currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer - Network Security as part of our Enterprise Information Security department. Enterprise Information Security (EIS) is integrated within the Enterprise Technology and Operations division (1100+ technical people) at Zions Bancorporation. EIS is responsible for enabling secure innovation and business growth for 10,000+ employees across 11 states. As aCyber Security Engineer - Network Security you will play a key role in defending the enterprise from malicious actors. The work you do has a real impact customer-wide and enterprise-wide and it is truly valued by both.

Responsibilities:
  • Function as key contributor in the CSOC's growth and evolution, actively improving our network security.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement monitoring use cases, operating procedures, playbooks and other technical documentation.
  • Design, develop, and implement systems to contribute to the protection of system boundaries, harden computer systems and network devices against attacks, and secure sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Cybersecurity Architecture and technology teams in finding solutions and implementing ways of securing network traffic, focusing on perimeter traffic and APIs.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of Firewall requests and existing Firewall rules.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency after hours response.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Experience in networking concepts and architectures, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and network segmentation.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies, including Network Firewalls, Load Balancers, Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Cloud WAFs.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and deep understanding of API Security Solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and cryptographic principles, including TLS/SSL, HTTPS, DNS, IPsec, and PKI.
  • Proficiency in encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms, such as AES, RSA, OAuth 2.0, SAML, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Solid knowledge of common attack vectors and security threats, including DDoS, credential stuffing, SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with network and security models, including the OSI model, Zero Trust architecture, and defense-in-depth strategies.
  • Scripting and automation skills are a plus for developing security tools and integrations.
  • Relevant technical certifications are a plus (ex: CCNA, CISSP, SANS,)
  • Requires a bachelor's in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical field and 4+ years' experience in information security or networking, server and/or application security baseline configurations, IT infrastructure management, application architecture, risk management, data architecture, middleware technology, developing and implementing security products/systems or other directly related technical experience. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

Work Location:

This position will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
