Research Engineer

Overview:
A leading biotech organization is seeking a Research Engineer to support the development of next-generation DNA sequencing technologies. This hands-on role involves fabricating, assembling, and testing prototypes, fluidic systems, and lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and modify parts using CNC milling, 3D printing, and laser cutting

  • Assemble and test mesofluidic/microfluidic and electro-mechanical devices

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot custom lab equipment

  • Perform microfabrication tasks including photolithography, etching, and bonding

  • Conduct performance testing and collect data for analysis

  • Collaborate on test plans, documentation, and reports

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant industry experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Bioengineering (or related field)

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals

  • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and documentation skills

  • Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software preferred

  • Cleanroom experience is a plus
