Job Description:
Apex Systems has an Immediate Need for a Linux Engineer in San Diego, CA. This opportunity will be supporting one of our Largest Government Clients Across the United States. Please see below for additional details:

Title: Linux Engineer
Location: Hybrid/Onsite in San Diego or Virginia Beach
Schedule: M-F normal day hours
Pay: Up to $140k YOE and location dependent
Type: 6 month contract to hire
Travel: Up to 25% supporting the US Navy tactical networks
Qualifications
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
IAT II Compliant- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
Experience and/or certified in three or more of the below:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
- Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
- CompTIA Linux+
- EnterpriseDB PostgreSQL Advanced Server
- ForgeRock Access Management (AM)
- JFrog Artifactory Pro
Job Description/Responsibilities
- Serve as a Tier 3 Escalation support- Expert in Red Hat Linux troubleshooting, file systems, permissions, and supporting installs
- Serve as technical advisors with ACS development and sustainment
- Support will encompass a range of capabilities, from system installations, configuration management enforcement, system sustainment and upgrades, distance support, and emergent Casualty Report (CASREP) support as needed for the warfighters
- JBoss/WildFly: Experience handling and fixing JBoss application server problems
- Experienced with scripting languages Python and Ansible for light support such as automating redundant processes and pulling logs. Python for automation and custom tool creation. Then, being familiar with Ansible for configuration and automation tasks
- Skilled in OpenShift for container management and orchestration. Knows how to deploy, scale, and troubleshoot applications in OpenShift clusters
- High level problem solving skills : Can diagnose and solve complex issues from start to finish.
