Job Title: Release Train Engineer (RTE) Location: Charlotte, NC/Atlanta, GA (On-site)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and coordinate Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in alignment with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles. The RTE will serve as a servant leader and coach for the ART, facilitating processes, removing impediments, and ensuring smooth delivery of business value across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate and manage Program Increment (PI) Planning events, ART ceremonies, and synchronization meetings.
Serve as a servant leader to the ART, promoting continuous improvement and a culture of collaboration.
Coordinate cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Work closely with Product Management, System Architects, and Business Owners to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Identify, track, and resolve risks and impediments that may impact delivery.
Monitor ART performance metrics and ensure transparency in delivery progress.
Ensure the ART follows SAFe principles, Lean-Agile practices, and organizational governance requirements.
Foster communication and alignment between teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Support Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters in enabling high-performing teams.
Manage and escalate program-level issues to ensure timely resolution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of experience in software development, project/program management, or Agile delivery.
3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Program Manager, or similar role in a SAFe environment.
Proven experience facilitating large-scale Agile events and managing multiple Agile teams.
Strong understanding of SAFe , Lean, and Agile principles.
Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) preferred.
