Job Title: Microprocessor Product Component Engineer
Location: Westford, MA
Duration: 6 Months
Duties:
In this key position within the CETQ department, you will be responsible for semiconductor technology component engineering for the Microprocessor & Microcontroller products family. This role will be a key technical resource with the responsibility of introducing and owning all Microprocessor & Microcontroller products in terms of design-in, testing, manufacturing and quality. You will be the primary resource of Microprocessor & Microcontroller technologies for the design teams throughout Juniper Engineering. You will work on all life-cycle phases, from new product introduction through end of life.
Responsibilities include:
Define and review Microprocessor & Microcontroller product test coverage at NPI and sustaining phases
Drive Microprocessor & Microcontroller technical ecosystem and internal stakeholders on testing optimization for quality, cost, efficiency and risk
Responsible for quality issues of Microprocessor & Microcontroller products which stem from customer and manufacturing events -- and following-up with Microprocessor suppliers for corrective actions
Point of escalation to drive component failure analysis, containment, and corrective actions - interface with manufacturing management and engineering management to resolve complex technical problems
Regular rating and review of Microprocessor & Microcontroller supplier performance with respect to improvements in technology, yield, DPPM, service, etc...
Partner to develop commodity strategy, supplier selection, and perform supplier technical audits
Work with the Supplier Quality Engineering team on component quality metrics and initiatives, to ensure defect-free product shipments to customers
Assessment and qualification of new Microprocessor & Microcontroller components, as well as value engineering activities
Maintenance and Change Management, including technical evaluation of the changes, of Juniper Approved Vendor List (AVL)
AVL and document management using applicable software
Skills:
Typically requires MSEE or equivalent plus 7 years semiconductor development, component and/or manufacturing experience
6 years of applicable Microprocessor & Microcontroller design, testing and/or engineering experience supporting the manufacturing of large complex systems, ideally in a high-speed networking environment
Extensive semiconductor device physics, fabrication process, design, architecture, manufacturing, test, assembly, failure mode, quality and reliability knowledge and experience
Experience with Linux or FreeBSD platforms, as well as with both die-level and packaged-part products
Customer service (internally and externally) and be able to lead cross-functional teams through collaboration and expertise
