Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically adept Contract Technical Writer to support documentation efforts within our 3D printing process engineering team. This critical role focuses on creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, IOQ Protocols, and Reports within a medical device manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly on the production floor, collaborating with subject matter experts, and using established templates and tools to produce high-quality, compliant documentation.

responsibilities:
- Create, revise, and format Work Instructions using existing templates and direct process observations.
- Develop and maintain Installation, Operational, and Qualification (IOQ) protocols and reports.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to capture workflows and translate them into clear, actionable documents.
- Ensure documentation complies with medical device regulatory standards and internal quality systems.
- Use tools such as Microsoft Word, Copilot AI tools, and Arena PLM for document creation and management.
- Conduct interviews and observe processes on the floor to gather accurate technical information.
- Maintain version control and ensure documents are properly stored and accessible in the document management system.

Required Qualifications
- Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail and clarity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with AI tools like Copilot.
- Experience with document management systems, preferably Arena.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to spend time on the production floor to observe and document processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies and process engineering concepts.
- Understanding of regulatory standards such as ISO 13485, FDA QSR, or similar.
