  • Data Center Refresh: Lead and support infrastructure refresh projects, including hardware integration (VBlocks, Oracle hardware, etc.).
  • Analysis & Reporting: Prepare detailed, data-driven reports on utilization, right-sizing, and ARA reporting (Excel proficiency required).
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams development, operations, compliance, and security while mentoring junior staff.
  • Lifecycle Delivery: Oversee solutions through the full lifecycle: design, prototype, implementation, operational turnover, and decommissioning.

Top 3 Required Skills

  1. Deep VMware Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the VMware suite beyond basic VM setup, including analytics and troubleshooting.
  2. Aria Automation: Strong hands-on experience with VMware Aria Automation for infrastructure orchestration and optimization.
  3. Hardware Infrastructure Experience: Familiarity with converged/hyperconverged platforms and physical hardware (e.g., VBlocks, Oracle hardware, Cisco, NetApp, VSAN).

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
  • Strong reporting and data analysis skills (Excel, data presentation, VM right-sizing).
  • Process-oriented mindset with ability to follow structured methodologies.
  • Exposure to containers (Kubernetes, Docker) and public cloud IaaS (Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • VMware certifications (preferred, not required).

Team & Collaboration

  • Join a 10 12-member architecture team, reporting to a lead architect.
  • Focus on scaling team capacity so others can concentrate on strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with operations teams but no on-call support responsibilities.
  • Actively contribute to the data center refresh and VM right-sizing initiatives.
  • Begin creating analytical reports and providing actionable infrastructure insights.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant IT infrastructure/architecture experience.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
