Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Farmers Branch, TX (On-site Tuesday – Thursday)
Position Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to join our team. In this role, you will drive business intelligence initiatives, develop advanced reporting solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights. You’ll be instrumental in shaping our data strategy, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing reporting frameworks to support critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Review and enhance data models, reports, and dashboards to ensure performance and consistency
- Stay current with BI and analytics trends, integrating advanced analytics and machine learning where applicable
- Uphold data governance standards to ensure data quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot reporting issues, and lead user training sessions
- Explore and implement emerging BI tools and technologies to drive innovation
- Administer and support deployed BI tools within the enterprise environment
- Design, develop, and maintain operational and analytical reports
- Optimize data queries and report performance
- Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on BI tools and data solutions
- Analyze business requirements, perform ad-hoc queries, and contribute to Agile story point estimation in Azure DevOps
- Develop predictive analytics solutions and machine learning algorithms
- Participate in full development lifecycle, ensuring documentation in ADO and adherence to internal processes
- Lead system and user acceptance testing efforts
- Mentor junior developers and foster cross-department collaboration
- Conduct ongoing and ad-hoc data and process analyses
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Build strong relationships across business units
- Develop a strong understanding of the organization’s goals and strategies
- Model professionalism, ethical standards, and organizational values
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2014 and later)
- 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience
- 4+ years administering Power BI Services
- Expertise in Power BI (M Query, DAX, Data Modeling)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory for pipeline development
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and ServiceNow for development and support workflows
- Experience with Azure and Azure SQL Managed Instance
- Advanced SQL and T-SQL programming skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft BI suite and SQL Server tools
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred: Loan Servicing industry experience, particularly with MSP systems
- Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to explain and justify technical decisions
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
