Position Summary:
We are in pursuit of a versatile expert to take on a hybrid role encompassing the disciplines of Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and Project Management within our Finance Data Governance division. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison among Finance, Data Science, and Information Technology departments, ensuring that data within financial systems is of the highest integrity, meticulously governed, and in full compliance.
Role Duties:
Facilitate cross-departmental efforts to establish and execute Data Governance frameworks, protocols, and practices.
Conduct rigorous evaluations and enhancements of data management procedures, including accuracy checks and process optimization.
Take charge of documenting data provenance, overseeing metadata repositories, and launching data catalog initiatives.
Translate business needs from stakeholders into detailed functional and technical requirements.
Oversee and deliver streamlined governance-involved projects with varied scopes.
Investigate discrepancies in data, ascertain root causes, and liaise with tech teams for issue resolution.
Partner with Finance Data Custodians and IT personnel to track, evaluate, and report on data quality indicators.
Ensure full alignment with all-encompassing data governance strategies and statutory mandates.
Candidate Profile:
A minimum of 7 years' proven performance in roles such as Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Project Manager, preferably within the financial domain.
In-depth grasp of the tenets of Data Governance, including mastery in managing data quality and controlling metadata.
Practical engagement with tools enhancing data provenance, glossaries, and stewardship activities (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).
Well-acquainted with financial data structures, ledger frameworks, fiscal reporting norms, and compliance data needs.
Adept at analytical thinking and problem resolution, with proficiency in data visualization and reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
Proven track record in partnering with IT units and steering multidisciplinary stakeholder groups.
Commendable capabilities in procedural documentation, fluent communication, and adept project supervision.
Preference for candidates with familiarity in SQL or analogous data interrogation languages.
