Sr Oracle DBA - Preferred in CA- Bay area
Remote ( support PST time zone)
Overall (18+ yrs exp)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain our critical Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, a strong understanding of Enterprise Operations Management (EOM) principles, and proven experience in Service Delivery Management (SDM). Proficiency in Power BI for reporting and analytics related to database performance and operations is a significant plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12 years of extensive experience as an Oracle DBA, preferably in large-scale, enterprise environments.
- Expertise with Oracle Database versions [e.g., 12c, 19c, 21c].
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of Enterprise Operations Management (EOM) principles, including monitoring, capacity planning, and operational excellence.
- Demonstrable experience in Service Delivery Management (SDM), including ITIL concepts, incident, problem, and change management.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI for database operational insights.
- Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
- Experience with other database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
