Job Title: Systems Administrator - Event Support
Location: Bristol, CT (local candidates strongly preferred; relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Long-term contract (up to 14 months, with potential extension to 24-30 months or conversion to FTE)
Overview:
We're seeking a Systems Administrator with a solid background in enterprise IT infrastructure and networking to support a well-known media company's internal systems. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in large-scale corporate environments and is looking to break into the broadcasting/media industry. The position involves imaging and configuring systems, managing network connectivity, and supporting backend infrastructure. Occasional travel may be required, and all travel expenses are reimbursed through vendor processes.

Responsibilities:
- Image, configure, and deploy Windows-based systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Maintain system performance and reliability through regular updates and preventative maintenance
- Track and manage IT inventory and equipment logistics
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on system deployments and upgrades
- Support infrastructure tasks such as network setup, patching, and basic server maintenance
- Perform other duties as needed to support IT operations
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in enterprise-level system administration or IT infrastructure
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies
- Proficiency with Windows-based PCs and Servers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives effectively
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in tight quarters
- Open to occasional travel; flexibility for weekends and short-notice trips
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, SNMP, Wireshark
- Basic Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Experience supporting AV or broadcast infrastructure is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent experience
