Inbuilding SP Engineer

West Nyack, New York - Hybrid onsite 2 Days in Office/3 Days Remote

12+ months contract on W2

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in inbuilding DAS optimization, troubleshooting, and integration.
  • Carrier system performance experience to correlate parameters and parts of the inbound DAS that impact network KPIs.
  • Review pre and post KPIs for sites that undergo modifications or radio swaps, providing approvals to vendors or working with them to optimize the DAS.
  • Provide field testing support for customer complaints and escalations, including call data testing.

Required Skills:

  • Inbuilding DAS optimization.
  • System performance and KPI analysis.
  • Knowledge of RAN equipment and ability to understand inbuilding designs.
  • Familiarity with DAS OEMs such as Solid, ADRF, CommScope, TE, and Corning.
  • Knowledge of call flow tools like Airwave and Truecall is a plus.

Logistics:

  • The candidate needs to be local to New York City due to field visits.
  • Hybrid schedule: in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
  • Field visits: frequency varies (potentially once a month or every other week) depending on complaints or issues. Mileage expenses for field visits are reimbursable.

Sponsor will conduct 30-minute interviews.

Additional Information:

  • Certifications for DAS integration and optimization are a plus, but real-world experience is more important.
  • Scripting skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Prior New York City experience is not required, but candidates should be local to the area.
  • The role is more focused on system performance than RF design.
  • Ideal candidates should have 3-4 years of experience. Candidates with 2 years of experience may be considered if they have relevant experience.
  • The team is looking to move quickly, with interviews scheduled for the week of the 12th.
  • Candidates willing to relocate at their own expense may be considered.

West Nyack office (no other NY hub)

Needs someone to work on some items with their team, basically engineer that has expertise in inbuilding das opt and troubleshooting and integration skills

Support role to go onsite testing, call testing, verifying das health etc onsite for field support

Must have DAS optimization

They need Carrier system performance exp (ATT TMO VERIZON)

Must have experience with major RAN equipment vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung)

Mods, swapping out radio, changing out OEM they will review and make sure it looks good

Or optimization with vendors on DAS

Tasked with support for field testing, to verify the DAS is performing as expected call data testing and equipment testing as needed

IBV DAS optimization

KPI optimization

Should be able to look at in-building design and walk through to do their part of the job(not a design role), cable pathways to antennas etc.

Some iBwave experience is a plus

Knowledge of DAS in building OEM CommScope, TE, Corning, JDA ADRF

Call flow exp. Airwave and truecall is also good experience

Travel to site is dependent on needs, but not consistent

Will take the top 5 and interview for 30 min

Local and onsite 2x a week hybrid tue and Wednesday

Das integration and optimization certs from OEM would be good

Doesn't need prior NYC experience but should be local to NY

Atleast 3-4 years of exp.

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important):

A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science

Knowledge of RF theory as well as 5G and LTE/VoLTE technology

Experience with major RAN equipment vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung)

Understanding of 5G and LTE network KPIs and key parameters

Experience with network Design/Optimization

Knowledge of IB DAS Design and Optimization

Knowledge of DAS OEM (JMA, SOLiD, ADRF, Commscope, TE)

Experience with IB DAS integration and commissioning

Knowledge of data analysis/post-processing tools such as Irisview, Windcatcher, Actix

Knowledge of call flow analysis tools such as Airwave/Truecall

Advanced knowledge of Excel, including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation

Experience in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages

Experience with a project workflow tool is a plus, e.g. Fuze

JOB DUTIES:

Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. As an In-Building SP Engineer, you'll be supporting some major projects that will transform our In-building (IB) cell sites, to improve network performance and customer experience. You'll play a key role in making sure our customers continue to enjoy the crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance that were known for.

Using knowledge of 5G, LTE, IP, and microwave to contribute to network design

Evaluating service performance trends and isolating root causes of impacted services.

Performing testing and analyses of relevant key performance indicators

Coordinating technical investigations and testing with appropriate regional, area and HQ functions

Providing technical analysis, troubleshooting, and training assistance to markets and regions as requested

Optimizing networks using traditional and innovative means

Investigating and resolving customer complaints regarding service

Conducting data analysis of switch statistics and drive data by conducting drive/walk testing for potential sites, new site integration, and system optimization

Maintaining accuracy of the databases and tools to ensure proper reporting

You will also have the opportunity for involvement in the system performance aspects of macro network engineering in a challenging RF environment and getting involved in all aspects of IB deployment and optimizations from the initial integration phase through the final testing and acceptance phase.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Experience in RF design and optimization.
