Silicon Validation Engineer 3Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Silicon Validation Engineer for a contract position in Hillsboro, OR. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary:
Join a talented and motivated team responsible for validating the functionality and performance of cutting-edge chip designs. Collaborate closely with design, verification, and software teams to develop test plans, execute tests, debug issues, and report results. Contribute to the improvement of validation methodologies and tools.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute validation test plans for various SoC features and subsystems in areas such as functional, electrical, or power/performance.
- Perform functional, stress, and performance testing using hardware and software tools.
- Analyze test results and identify, isolate, and debug issues.
- Document and communicate test findings and status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with design, verification, and software teams to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Support the development and enhancement of validation methodologies and tools.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in the field.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree is preferred, but not strictly required.
- Experience in computer architecture, silicon validation, and basic scripting knowledge (Python) is important.
- Good communication and self-awareness.
- 3 years of experience in silicon validation, testing, or debugging.
- Demonstrated validation experience in one or more of the following:
- Functional: Core, PCIe, Memory Controller, IO, Power Management, Coherency, Manageability, BIOS/Microcode development and debug, or Fuses.
- Electrical: Serdes, IO.
- Power and Performance.
- Applied understanding of computer architecture and CPU/SoC validation principles, including understanding of SoC subsystem, SoC system level, and platform level functionality, and writing scripts/software with industry-standard languages like Python or C/C++.
- Understanding system-level software and firmware.
- Experience with hardware and software debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, gdb, etc.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, C++.
- Understanding of board-level schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for quality and innovation.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience with computer architecture knowledge.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience with silicon validation.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience with basic scripting knowledge (Python).
