Job Description:
Position Title: Analyst, Reporting Applications - SQL Development
Department: HSM Digital Solutions
Location: Virtual - anywhere in the US
What will I be doing?
Do you have a passion for high-quality data? If so, this could be the role for you. The Analyst of Digital Solutions team will be responsible for writing complex SQL queries per business requirements and ensuring the validity of data being provided. In this role, you will create ad-hoc reports in MS Excel or Tableau/PowerBI for delivering the data to business analysts and/or business owners.
More specifically, you will:
Assist Senior Manager in Project Management related tasks such as prioritizing of efforts, leading status update calls, providing meeting recaps, and escalation of issues and resolutions.
Design, develop, and test complex SQL queries and store procedures that are outside of canned reports, based on specific parameters to allow for ongoing flexibility
Develop data modeling concepts to put into meaningful views for smoother reporting capabilities
Perform analysis and validation of the data being queried for internal and external clients to ensure accuracy and consistency
Interact with business analysts and/or business owners to clarify requirements and ensure that finalized data/reports meet end-user needs
Assist internal and external users with data mapping for ad hoc reporting, and help them understand the relationships of data warehouse tables
Troubleshoot reporting issues and resolve end-user reporting problems through collaboration between multiple functional teams promptly
Review existing queries and store procedures and identify areas for performance improvements, and rewrite if needed
Identify opportunities that ad-hoc reports should be converted canned reports, work with Sr. Analyst and Manager to convert ad-hoc report requirements to canned report design, and pass to Business Intelligence (BI) developer to implement and push to production for BI dashboard release
Maintain and run regularly scheduled canned reports and distribution for end-user consumption.
Perform other reporting duties as assigned

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Project Management Certification (Not Required)
Two (2) years of experience in developing complex SQL queries
Demonstrate a strong understanding of relational databases and the SQL server platform like SSIS
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookup, functions, etc.)
It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Experience with a Business Intelligence tool (e.g. Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, CognosBI, Spotfire) and report development
Supply chain management knowledge
