Location: Remote

Role Description:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders (Finance, Controlling, Operations) to understand their profitability, cost allocation, and performance management requirements.
  • Translate business needs into comprehensive SAP PaPM solution designs and blueprints, including data models, calculation rules, allocation logic, and reporting structures.
  • Conduct workshops and gather detailed requirements to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Configure and implement SAP PaPM models, functions, and processes
  • Data acquisition and integration (e.g., from SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW, non-SAP sources).
  • Calculation logic, allocations (step-down, activity-based costing, etc.), and derivations
  • Reporting and planning functionalities within PaPM.
  • Performance optimization techniques for complex models.
  • Develop and execute test plans (unit, integration, user acceptance testing) to ensure the accuracy and integrity of PaPM solutions.
  • Prepare detailed functional and technical documentation for implemented solutions.
  • Define and implement data loading strategies into PaPM.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency within the PaPM environment.
  • Manage integration points between SAP PaPM and source systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA FI/CO, SAP BW/4HANA, other data warehouses).
  • Provide ongoing support for existing SAP PaPM implementations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system stability.
  • Identify opportunities for performance tuning and optimization of PaPM models and processes.
  • Assist clients with data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution related to profitability and cost data.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users and key business users on SAP PaPM functionalities and processes.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to client teams for ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and status reporting.
  • Adhere to project methodologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5/10 years of hands-on experience as an SAP PaPM Consultant, including participation in at least [Y] full lifecycle implementation projects.
  • Deep functional and technical understanding of SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) capabilities, including:
    • Modeling environment (Environment, Model Tables, Functions).
    • Calculation and allocation rules (e.g., Driver-Based, Activity-Based Costing, Step-Down, Iterative).
    • Reporting and analysis features within PaPM.
    • Performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting (FI) and controlling (CO) processes in SAP, including cost center accounting, profit center accounting, internal orders, product costing, and COPA (Profitability Analysis).
  • Experience with data integration techniques for PaPM, including connections to SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and other data sources.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective PaPM solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP PaPM certification.
  • Experience with other SAP EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) tools (e.g., SAP BPC, SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Experience in industries with complex cost allocation or profitability analysis needs (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, utilities).
  • Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.
