Job Details

A SME (Subject Matter Expert) Lead in the Life Science domain focusing on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance would primarily act as the bridge between industry-specific business needs and the technical implementation of the D365 Finance ERP solution. This role requires deep expertise in both life science operations and financial processes within the D365 framework.
Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Analysis & Solution Design: Lead workshops to gather, analyze, and map complex business and financial requirements specific to the life science industry (e.g., R&D cost tracking, clinical trial accounting, grant management, compliance reporting) to D365 Finance capabilities.
  • System Configuration & Implementation: Configure D365 Finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Budgeting, and Fixed Assets, to meet unique life science business processes.
  • Domain Expertise & Advisory: Act as the trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, leveraging end-to-end process knowledge and industry best practices to guide solution strategies and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, GMP) is met within the financial system.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with technical developers, solution architects, and other functional consultants (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration across all D365 modules and external systems.
  • Documentation & Training: Prepare detailed functional design documents (FDDs), user guides, and training materials. Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and functional training for end-users.
  • Project Leadership: Lead the functional aspect of implementation projects, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Typically requires 7+ years of experience in ERP implementation, with significant experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 F&O Finance and a strong background in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of core D365 Finance modules and related configurations (e.g., ledger setup, tax setup, dimension setup).
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle, clinical operations, R&D functions, and commercial analytics in the life sciences sector.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to bridge business problems with technological solutions.
  • Certifications: Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications (e.g., MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance) are highly beneficial.
