The M365 Security Team is looking for a Lead Principal Assurance Engineer to help us drive objectives to meet our goal of offering the most secure and trusted productivity experiences in the world, managing a team of highly capable Security professionals, and getting into the technical details of Security Reviews, Threat Models, and Security Architecture themselves too. This position requires a strong passion for technology, growth engineering, data-informed decision making, partner engagement, and most of all: customer focus. Responsibilities:
Driving Secure Engineering policies, practices, and tooling across user-facing services at Microsoft, including AI platforms and implementations
Helping guide Engineering Teams across Microsoft on security best practices
Collaborating with teams across Microsoft to help define the state of the art for detection, prevention, and elimination of security risks
Identifying emerging security problems that need additional focus, and contributing to building solutions to solve them, often utilizing AI
Mentoring others inside and outside of Microsoft on building secure platforms and systems
Plan and manage an expanding portfolio of security and privacy programs and track associated metrics
Create and present plans to management for driving security and privacy objectives across M365 services
Represent Microsoft in various customer briefings and security conferences

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 4+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) people management.
- 4+ years experience in advising engineering teams on security architecture, and designing and implementing security controls. This includes: Red Teaming, Security Architecture Reviewer (full time), Penetration Testing (full time).
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 8+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection (enterprise experience) OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field AND 12+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, threat modeling, cyber security, or anomaly detection (enterprise experience) OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management and/or informal/indirect team leadership experience.
- 4+ years managing a Security Architecture/SDL team.
- 4+ years experience managing technical security teams, with references.
