Network Engineer
The Opportunity:

A well-designed and secure network is critical to move data and enable the Department of Defense (DoD) to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and sof tware, requires a combination of te chn ical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to craft the exact network the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll work with the DoD to develop a reliable network to support critical missions. You'll collaborate with SMEs, customers, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and sof tware talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with backbone networks, cloud te chn ologies, and core networking, while broadening your network engineering work. You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with providing implementation and engineering support for DoD enterprise networks
  • 5+ years of experience with commercial hardware and networks and cloud environments
  • 2+ years of experience with conducting network discovery, including analyzing and documenting system requirements
  • Experience with developing and executing test and implementation plans based on requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, be detail oriented, and multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time within CONUS
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with networking technologies and core Internet protocols, wireless, and distributed networks
  • Experience with multiple vendors networking solutions, including Cisco, HP and Aruba, Palo Alto, Arista, or Juniper
  • Experience with cloud technologies and services, including AWS, Azure and designing, configuring, provisioning, and deploying solutions at the network layer
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and installation standards
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Baseline Certification within 6 months of hire date
  • Bachelor's degree


Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
