Role Description:
The Resilience Water Business Line of Arcadis is searching for an Electrical Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology to join our world class consulting firm in Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have studied industrial controls, rotating machinery and three-phase power systems as part of their curriculum.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide entry level technical design with a focus on power distribution in a multi-discipline team environment for projects that involve the collection, treatment and distribution of water for public use.
To be successful in this position the candidate will need to be performance-driven, team-oriented and outgoing with a committed work ethic.
Role Accountabilities:
As an Entry Level Electrical Engineer at Arcadis, you will contribute to the electrical system design for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, related buildings, and other industrial facilities. Your responsibilities will include performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, lighting plans, grounding systems, and detailed electrical system specifications. You will utilize power systems analysis software such as ETAP and SKM Power Tools to conduct power system analysis. Over time, you will become more involved in field investigations, as well as the preparation of reports and memos related to electrical engineering tasks. Additionally, you will provide engineering services during the construction phase, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor requests for information. The role also involves short-term travel within the southwest region of the United States for project meetings and site visits.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Academic emphasis on three phase power systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and collaborate with colleagues across various functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) / Engineer in Training (EIT) license or ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Visio, or other graphic drafting development software.
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Experience using ETAP, SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software.
- Internship / part-time work for a consulting engineering firm or systems integrator.
