Role: IT Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 plus bonus - DOE

Job details:

This is a strategic position responsible for the IT infrastructure and corporate services deployed at the data center and administrative buildings, as well as network communications throughout the project. The IT Supervisor will plan, implement, manage, and monitor third-party contractors to ensure successful project execution as well as daily and long-term IT operations. The role also provides industry knowledge and best practices to optimize IT operations, reduce risk, and meet business requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor day-to-day operations, maintenance, reliability, testing, rollout, upgrades, support, and general system administration including data center, communications, fiber, corporate voice and data network, servers, desktop services, operating systems, hardware, software, and the Traffic Operations Center.

  • Develop and manage the business continuity and disaster recovery plan.

  • Evolve and oversee network communications infrastructure for the project.

  • Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures.

  • Perform proactive testing, audits, variance analyses, and recommend corrective actions and future capability/capacity planning.

  • Monitor compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Identify and resolve complex IT problems.

  • Manage third-party contractors, licenses, and support contracts.

  • Analyze data and trends for proactive management of storage architecture, capacity, and response times.

  • Support IT financial objectives by managing budget input, forecasts, business case justifications, and cost/benefit analyses.

  • Perform additional duties as required.


Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.

  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience including:

    • Backup and business continuity procedures

    • SLA management

    • Colocation center management

    • Security protocols and standards

    • Audit standards

    • Database management

    • Asset management (hardware/software lifecycle, load usage reporting, data center efficiency)

    • Tech support systems: ticketing systems, service orders, work orders

    • Network design, implementation, and maintenance

  • Experience in IT administration such as project management, IT policy development, process improvement, system administration, backup/patch management, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

  • Personnel and team management experience including relationship building, conflict resolution, goal setting, and evaluations.

  • Departmental management experience including vendor negotiation, forecasting, and strategic planning.

  • Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

  • Initiative-driven and proactive in working with multiple teams.


Computer & Network Skills

  • Knowledge of network, server, backup, and storage infrastructure.

  • Experience implementing and maintaining fiber-based network communications.

  • Experience in Toll and/or ITS industry preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other PC-based programs.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work environment can vary from quiet to moderate/high noise levels.

  • Occasional travel between project sites may be required.

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Vision abilities include adjusting focus for computer use.

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing required.
