Job Title: Software Engineer
Pay Rate: $116,000-$194,000
Location: Hillsboro, OR (97003)

Job Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Onsite/Hybrid
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design, develop, and maintain distributed microservices, RESTful APIs, and modern service-based architectures.
* Apply microservices patterns (service discovery, circuit breaker, API gateway) and contribute to architectural and technical strategy decisions.
* Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and perform peer code reviews; mentor junior engineers.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment workflows.
* Containerize and orchestrate applications with Docker and Kubernetes; deploy and manage services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
* Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security of distributed systems.
* Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, load testing, and performance tuning for microservices.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Product, Design) and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
* Communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Implement unit, integration, and contract testing to maintain high code quality.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* 5-10 years of professional software engineering experience, including exposure to IaaS or low-level system development.
* Strong Linux experience including administration, internals, systemd, boot process, kernel tuning, and custom kernel/module work.
* Proficiency debugging kernel/user-space interactions (strace, perf, dmesg, lsof, sysctl).
* Deep understanding of PXE/iPXE, DHCP, TFTP, UEFI/BIOS, and hardware provisioning flows.
* Experience with hardware boot orchestration tools (Tinkerbell, MAAS, Foreman).
* Familiarity with BMC interfaces (IPMI, Redfish), RAID configuration, hardware telemetry.
* Experience building immutable OS images (Talos, CoreOS, Yocto) and knowledge of secure boot, disk encryption (LUKS), and TPM provisioning.
* Understanding of disk cloning, partitioning, and custom OS deployment pipelines.
* Proficiency in Go or Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask) with strong object-oriented and functional programming knowledge.
* Ability to travel up to 5%.
