Driveline is part of the Event Platform, an internal platform that is used by around half of the products built by Datadog (Logs, APM, RUM, Security, etc). It supports a high scale (many PetaBytes ingested per day) with high level of reliability. Main component managed by the Driveline team is an in-memory database built for fast, low-cost ingestion and high-density storage, which is also named Driveline. It supports the LiveSearch feature that exposes query capabilities on unsampled data. It's written in C++ and Go. As the manager for this team you will be in charge of consolidating the current uses of Driveline (, ) and of expanding that to more products. You will also drive the vision for Driveline and will contribute to the future of the whole Event Platform. As the team is also quickly growing, you will also be involved in hiring the best candidates for this team.

What You'll Do:
- Define and lead the team's vision and future evolution of Driveline datastore
- Plan and schedule activities within the team
- Interview and recruit talents to grow your team
- Manage a team of Distributed Systems Engineers with various levels of experiences
Who You Are:
- Experience managing distributed teams
- Technical background on distributed systems
- Experience with production systems at a significant scale
- Experience building a datastore would be a plus
- Optionally experience with C++
