Job Description

The Principal Cloud Architect will lead and optimize cloud strategy, focusing on AWS technologies to drive innovation and scalable solutions. This role involves investigating new cloud technologies, mentoring engineers, and working cross-functionally to support business objectives. You will shape and implement cloud architecture to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and cost-efficient scaling while mentoring and empowering your team.

In this role, you'll work with advanced messaging systems like Pulsar, Kafka, Redpanda, Google PubSub, Amazon MSK, and NATS. You'll dive into real-time analytics with tools like Pinot, Druid, and Clickhouse, and leverage event processing FaaS technologies including Pulsar Functions, Apache Flink, and OpenFaaS.

You'll also implement and manage sophisticated AuthZ technologies like Google Zanzibar, SpiceDB, and OpenFGA, ensuring robust and scalable authorization solutions.

Job Duties

  • Lead cloud initiatives, leveraging AWS services to meet organizational needs.
  • Mentor engineers, fostering growth and innovation within the team.
  • Research and implement new cloud technologies and tools.
  • Ensure AWS best practices for architecture, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business goals.
  • Oversee cloud governance, including security, compliance, and identity management.
  • Contribute to internal summits and share cloud architecture insights.
  • Create documentation and training materials to share expertise.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3) and cloud strategy.
  • Experience with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Must Have Skills:

  • Bachelor s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6 years of IT experience, focusing on cloud technologies.
  • 3 years of experience with AWS services and automation tools.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect Professional.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with AWS Lambda, Kafka, or edge technologies (Fastly).
  • Background in machine learning, data engineering, or large-scale data systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
