About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Consultant to support complex business and technical initiatives within a large-scale enterprise environment. This contingent role focuses on driving data governance, quality, and strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will serve as a subject matter expert, influencing data management practices and delivering innovative, long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic consultant on data management initiatives, providing expertise across data governance, quality, and remediation.
- Collaborate with data product, technology, and business teams to define and implement standards for data flow, access, documentation, and integrity.
- Lead the resolution of complex data challenges through advanced analysis, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking.
- Provide guidance to senior leadership on data management best practices and innovative solutions.
- Conduct requirements gathering and data analysis to support business objectives.
- Document data flows, process flows, and data lineage; support data control governance and issue remediation.
- Write clear and actionable business requirements using JIRA in an Agile environment.
- Translate pseudo-SQL and legacy queries into business and technical requirements.
- Coordinate work efforts and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent experience through consulting, military service, or education.
- Proven experience in business and data analysis, with a strong understanding of the requirements analysis lifecycle.
- Strong foundational knowledge of relational databases (RDBMS).
- Experience with SQL and tools such as Teradata and Google Cloud Platform BigQuery.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage data quality, validation, and integration efforts.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
