Job title: Lead Technical Writer
Location:Waukesha, WI (Day 1 onsite)
What is in it for you?
As a Lead Technical Writer, you will be a part of an Agile team to build healthcare applications and implement new features while adhering to the best coding development standards.
Responsibilities: -
- Research, collect source data, and interview appropriate personnel to compose text for technical literature, which meets Client's standards and procedures.
- Create, edit, and maintain technical user and service publications that accurately and effectively support the product release requirements in various output formats (pdf, online help).
- Develop content using DITA files.
- Track and fix content defects.
- Create documentation methodologies, frameworks, and workflow diagrams using MS Visio.
- Coordinate review of all assigned writing projects to ensure thorough documentation and participate in peer reviews.
- Provide input on other technical writing projects by critiquing, editing, and proofreading manuscripts prepared by others.
- Complete writing assignments on-time and within budget according to departmental and industry standards.
- Assist and/or analyze project requirements to determine types or publications needed and develop project plans and timelines.
- Successfully work with and communicate with global teams.
- Assists and develops graphic and illustrations used in user and service documentation.
Skills: -
Mandatory skills
- Associate degree (or local equivalent) technical communication, English, bio-medical engineering, science writing, or other related discipline or at least 10 years of experience as a technical writer.
- Proficiency in XML authoring tools (Oxygen XML), content management systems (Astoria), Visio, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Documents and translates product technical information into easily comprehensible language.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality documentation and contribute to larger teams on projects as needed.
- Familiarity with conventions in form, structure, and notation of technical writing.
- Good knowledge of DDLC process and Cloud.
- Exceptional written, organizational, inter-personal, project management, and communication skills.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Good to have skills: -
- Experience in working on CI/CD Pipelines using GitLab
- Writing experience in the medical device industry or any relevant industry.
- Experience in writing user and service manuals / documents and using content management systems.
- Creating e-learning content and training materials. Articulate 360 is preferable.
- Functional knowledge in a wide range of technologies such as HTML and XML.
