Description
Immediately seeking a Strong Project or Program Manager with knowledge in GIS (Geographic Information System (GIS)) which is a computer system that analyzes and displays geographically referenced information. It uses data that is attached to a unique location and is prevalent in the energy and utility industry. More specifically, GIS is been applied to design renewable-energy infrastructure and support energy system planning, such as the potential assessment of renewable energy applications, energy simulation and modelling, building energy demand assessment, site selection, and graphical impact assessment and more. We are looking for a PM that has exposure to GIS projects and the systems, such as Esri or others. this PM will be responsible for Managing a large effort to replace and consolidate design tools, that are used within the large GIS system. (Esri is the GIS system and SBS is the company providing AUD as the design tool) all three entities of the company will be migrating and consolidating to AUD. This role will have vendor management, presentation and meeting involvement and driving the scheduling and project charter for a large enterprise effort. Looking for a Project Manager that works with the customer to represent them 8-5pm and their job is to manage the SBS AUD implementation for client. They require the client to do a lot of work and they don't have a dedicated PM to step in, and need someone whose main focus is the project around the design tool and becomes part of the team at the client to keep this thing rolling for the larger effort. Make sure SBS is contributing and staying on track. GIS replacement is going on in parallel, what this person will do is they will also come to the PM meetings around GIS and have a POV from the design tool and the track of what Is going on in that effort, since they are so crucial to one another. So what we are looking for is GIS or utility and strong communication skills! Team cooperation skills. Complexity from a vendor management stand point Program- work streams, GIS replacement, all to the latest version onto esri and incorporating all tools and going live end of 25 or early 2026. Hugely complicated, design phase coming to an end, new phase is starting in January- design phase and implementation will kick off and this is hand in hand with the new design tool project, where this PM would be aligned. Prepares the Project Charter whereby the goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, organizational structure, staffing level, team organization, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure and deliverables are identified and defined. Manages the overall Project and its scheduled activities and ensures that resources are available and channeled to produce the planned deliverables on time and within the approved budget. Develops and manages Project Budgets which support the cost-effective implementation of IT strategies, tactics and operating plans. Organizes the Project team into appropriate work groups and works closely with the Business Lead, Technical Lead, and Test Lead to support and guide the entire Project team in their effort to achieve its business goals and produce deliverables within the specified time frames and financial constraints. Provides coaching and mentoring to project participants and leaders both outside and within the Project Management Office (PMO). Builds, maintains and improves guidance to project managers. Builds and maintains an inventory of project management best practices. (Internal and External). Leads or supports interdisciplinary teams in preparing and developing project related documents. Conducts stakeholder outreach and communication efforts related to the Project, including conducting Steering Committee meetings, preparing notification letters and other documents and incorporating stakeholder input into the Project's documents. Strong technical IT background Excellent at Relationship Building Take complete ownership of assigned projects Attention to Detail Hold people accountable; team likes being kept honest Actively leads team to victory--not just a "note taker" or someone who can put together a PowerPoint Understands project drivers, complexities, interrelationships, and constraints Reaches out to vendors and management actively, so as to get ahead of issues Develops task lists and runs down the tasks daily Establishes "esprit de corps" with team Actively surfaces resource, vendor, and project dependencies which negatively affect project timeline or quality Highly organized and able to leverage that to help fill gaps amongst individual contributors Consistently follows and applies the standard project management methodology Excellent attendance
