Job Details

Our client is looking for a Senior Systems Programmer to join their Team! The Senior Systems Programmer oversees the day-to-day management, upkeep, and support of our mainframe systems, covering both hardware and software components. This position requires a wide range of technical expertise, including software installation and maintenance, diagnosing and resolving system problems, and delivering technical assistance. The role also includes optimizing system performance, developing disaster recovery strategies, and safeguarding system availability and security.

Top skills you need to have:

  • Deep understanding of the z/OS operating system and its components including but not limited to TSO, ISPF, VTAM and SDSF. Must have at least 2.4.
  • Proficient in languages like JCL, COBOL and assembler knowledge would be a plus but not required.
  • Understanding of mainframe hardware, DASD management, virtual tape management (Luminex) and various IBM and ISV software products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other teams and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Must have the ability to participate in an on-call rotation
