Scope Description: Seeking a consultant (40hours/week) to support a customer with the following effort the candidate must have hands on keyboard experience deploying IaC and be half time available in person at Fort Meade:

  • Team with the Customer to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for provisioning and configuring AWS Services in non-production environments
  • Provide Customer with general review of conceptual architectural models on AWS Services, which may include review of Customer's constraints and dependencies, suggest to Customer potential alternatives and help Customer develop an associated evaluation criteria
  • Deliver to the Customer on the general best practices for architecting on AWS Services, which may include general best practices applicable to Customer's identified use case(s) on AWS Services
  • Team with the Customer to review Customer's current architecture, dependencies and operational requirements that Customer selects
  • Team with the Customer with understanding several different technology areas such as AWS Services automation (building Amazon Machine Images, system deployment, and bootstrapping) and configuration options for distributed high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) server architecture and supporting systems on AWS Services
  • Team with the Customer on architecture general best practices for running workloads on AWS Services
  • Provide the Customer with the migration of applications to AWS Services as mutually agreed upon
  • Provide the Customer with automation of migration and post-migration operational activities in Customer non-production environment
  • Deliver to the Customer on AWS general best practices for cost and performance optimization on the AWS platform
  • Team with the Customer in onboarding a Partner that will handle the daily Operations and Maintenance of the environment in GovCloud
  • Assess current enterprise cloud environments and identify capabilities needed for future applications
  • Assess current common services and enterprise integration services and identify future enhancements to those services

Skills Required:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
  • CompTIA Security + or equivalent
  • Experience developing AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation of deployment of applications in to AWS GovCloud
  • Experience advising Customers with AWS migration best practices, specifically related to AWS GovCloud
  • Experience architecting applications IAW AWS best practices in AWS GovCloud
  • Experience working in DoD environments
  • Familiarity with DoD RMF/ATO requirements
