The ASE Data Services Team is looking for extraordinary engineers to design and build best of breed systems for dealing with our complex and ever-growing data and infrastructure needs. We are a key part of the Apple ecosystem, supporting millions of users and billions of transactions. Description The ASE Data Services team provides managed database solutions engineered for top-tier security, compliance, reliability, performance, scalability, and functionality. Our infrastructure forms the backbone of many Apple products and services that are vital to the company's success and used by hundreds of millions of people around the world. Whether it's powering experiences like Apple Music, the App Store, and iCloud, enabling core platforms like iOS and Xcode, or supporting hardware operations such as iPhone production-our systems play a foundational role across Apple. In this role, you'll design and build the next generation of in-memory datastores and caching infrastructure, supporting Apple's most performance-critical workloads with unmatched scalability and availability. You'll work closely with teams across Apple in a highly collaborative environment. We're looking for engineers who challenge assumptions, thrive under pressure, and approach complex problems with thoughtful, high-quality technical solutions.

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of industry experience
- Professional software development experience in Java and/or C++ with strong understanding of Object oriented concepts and design
- Experience with at least one of scalable data stores - Cassandra, Redis, MongoDB.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful API and services.
- Production, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
- Understanding of data architecture and related problems.
- Experience working on complex problems and distributed systems where scalability and performance are extremely important (every millisecond counts)
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with compute/container platforms such as K8s is highly preferred
- Experience in distributed data stores replication and CRDT is a plus
- Experience in scalable message queue systems like Kafka, RocketMQ is a plus.
