Job Description
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

BAE Systems ES Model Shop is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Tech to their team to work and support the Model Shop as well as the Additive Manufacturing departments built on our internal additive machines. The work is centered in our Hudson NH location. The candidate for this role will have a background in the design of defense hardware and possess a strong background and proficiency in design knowing how a model should be defined to allow it to be additively manufactured. This person should have extensive hands-on experience working on AM equipment, building AM parts, from printing to assembly. They should possess the ability to execute all pre and post processing steps to ensure and yield a complete and high-fidelity AM part. They should be able to analyze, define and collaborate with engineers and designers to achieve a part model that is manufacturable and meets the end use requirements. The individual should possess the creativity to define fixtures and assembly aids that will facilitate the build of complex multi-piece additive parts. This individual will be responsible for working with engineers, designers, machinists, and other additive technologists. This person should be highly organized, able to maintain job logs and all inventory control. They shall be self-directed in providing immediate and responsive support from engineering to production. The person should possess the understanding of working in and maintaining a safe and compliant a lab environment. They shall have the ability to "real-time" troubleshoot, maintain and service AM machines. This candidate will be provided challenging opportunities to work across all Business Areas and Product Lines.

The individual selected for this position shall have demonstrated skills as a self-starter with the autonomy for analyzing designs for AM as well as applying the mechanical design knowledge up front to influence AM hardware designs.

You will work closely with the materials capability group in engineering and with operations to support to programs across all Business Areas. You will be working in a highly collaborative and exciting area where applying, growing, and maturing additive manufacturing such that it provides direct benefits to the business.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High School Diploma or GED and 4 years work experience.
  • 4 years minimum of industry / internship experience in building Additive Manufacturing hardware.
  • Highly proficient in CREO 7 and GDT with the capability to Design for AM.
  • Experienced in understanding, interpretating, modifying complex hardware models.
  • Proficient at AM builds - on HP Powder bed and Stratasys fused filament machines.
  • Working knowledge of software's; Insight and Smart Stream and Control Center.
  • Ability to design fixtures and assembly tooling necessary for hardware with complex features, surfaces and angles.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on AM machines.
  • Full understanding with the ability to use safely operate machining tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interface and work cooperatively with engineering external and internal customers.
  • Motivated self-starter and collaborative problem solver.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • DOD Clearance Eligible.
  • Demonstrate Additive Skills by showing 2-3 Products that the individual has created.
  • Ability to focus in delivering efficiency.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of somewhere and tools on how to create AM products.
  • Have a desire to help the factory advance in our capabilities.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $62810 - $100540

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
