We are seeking a full-time Senior Programmer to join our team onsite at the Galveston, Texas campus. As a Senior Programmer, you will leverage your expertise in mainframe application development to address and resolve system issues efficiently. You will work independently while aligning with organizational objectives and oversee multiple systems for various internal groups, including Actuarial, Pension Risk Transfer, Pension & Retirement.

What will you do:
- Resolve incoming system issues and produce technical specifications
- Develop readable, dependable, and maintainable programs
- Perform testing of code changes
- Review test results with business representatives
- Provide optimal service to all internal and external customers
- Respond promptly to production issues by serving on the team's on-call rotation for 24-hour support: Typical schedule is o ne week per month (Monday-Sunday)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent & relevant work experience considered
- Professional work experience in application development
- Advanced proficiency with programming in an IBM mainframe environment with an emphasis on CICS, COBOL, and JCL
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services
