Title: Oracle Database Consultant with Vertex Experience
Location: San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA (Onsite/Hybrid)
Duration: Contract-to-Hire

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Resource with a strong background in Vertex tax solutions for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client based in California. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid foundation in Oracle ERP Cloud Financials and proven experience implementing and integrating Vertex tax solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation Planning: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand tax and financial requirements. Develop tailored implementation strategies for Oracle Finance and Vertex solutions.

  • Configuration & Customization: Configure Oracle Financials and Vertex to meet specific tax needs, including tax rules, rates, and exemption handling for various legal entities.

  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration between Vertex and ERP systems to support both Use Tax and Sales Tax workflows.

  • Testing & QA: Lead testing efforts for Oracle Cloud financial modules and Vertex tax solutions, ensuring system accuracy and stability.

  • Training & Support: Deliver training to business users and provide ongoing technical support for Oracle and Vertex functionalities.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation including configuration guides, user manuals, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with tax technology trends, Oracle updates, and best practices to recommend enhancements and efficiency improvements.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

  • Vertex Certified Professional (preferred)

  • Certifications in Oracle ERP Financial Modules (GL, AP, AR, FA)

  • 3+ years of experience implementing Vertex tax solutions, including configuration for Sales and Use Tax across multiple regions (e.g., US, Canada, Italy, Turkey, UK)

  • Experience with Tax Link, Exemption Certificate Management, and Vertex O

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle ERP Cloud Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA, Projects)

  • Strong understanding of tax regulations, compliance, and reporting

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Consulting/professional services experience is a plus
