Job Details
Piper Companies is seeking a Resident Network Engineer to join a leading Cable Service Provider in Seattle or Bellevue, WA in an On-Site environment. This is a highly technical, post-sales support role with a focus on IP-based service provider networks and security platforms.
Responsibilities of the Resident Network Engineer include:
Work closely with customer and Technical Assistance Centre to resolve issues.
Act as a customer technical liaison for Networks support and development teams.
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems of a diverse scope.
Assist in the development and testing of new features and services/functionality.
Provide informal workshops to transfer knowledge to engineering staff/customers.
Evaluate technical specifications for interoperability.
Assist the customer to develop Network and Equipment Operating Procedures.
Qualifications for the Resident Network Engineer include:
5+ years of experience supporting networking and security products in LAN/WAN/Internet environments.
Experience with JUNOS CLI or other Network OS.
Hands-on experience with SRX Series high-end firewalls (cluster and MNHA).
Understanding of security best practices: Stateful firewall, NAT, ALG's, DOS/DDOS mitigation, IPS/IDS, AppFW, SIEM, Threat intelligence.
Strong knowledge of IP service provider protocols: TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, RSVP, IPv6, BGP), VPNs.
Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of JUNOS and SRX-Series products.
Compensation for the Resident Network Engineer includes:
Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000
