Job Title: Master Data Business Analyst
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Contract Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension)
Position Overview:
A leading retail organization is seeking a Master Data Business Analyst to support merchandise systems and serve as a liaison between business users and IT. This role will focus on ensuring data accuracy, system stability, system documentation, and effective user support. The analyst will play a key part in system administration, UAT testing, and continuous improvement across merchandising and ecommerce processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a primary user support and system administrator for merchandising systems, providing documentation, enhancements, and ensuring overall system reliability.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, MP&I, Ecommerce) to ensure data integrity and accurate system functionality.
Administer system settings, identify improvements, and troubleshoot issues by collaborating with IT and operational centers of excellence.
Manage and resolve Master Data team work tickets, particularly those related to invoice issues, while escalating complex issues when needed.
Ensure consistency and adherence to SLA expectations in handling tickets and operational requests.
Support enterprise data governance by ensuring master data is accurate, consistent, and complete.
Participate in UAT and troubleshoot across systems such as SAP and PIM.
Translate business needs into system configurations and enhancements.
Investigate and resolve root causes of recurring issues by connecting data and system topics.
Qualifications:
1 2 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or systems support.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Working knowledge of merchandising, ecommerce, omnichannel, and supply chain systems/processes.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to manage shifting priorities and work under tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify patterns across topics.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong collaboration and accountability, with experience working cross-functionally between business and IT.
Proven ability to simplify complex ideas and communicate them effectively.
Background in retail systems with solid process and system understanding.
Familiarity with SDLC and change management principles.
Experience with SAP (S/4 HANA is a plus).
Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) or Product Experience Management (PXM) systems.
