Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to play a critical role in our Cloud Migration initiative. This individual will be responsible for leading the initial build-out of a new cloud zone, rationalizing existing toolsets, and architecting a scalable and secure network infrastructure to support enterprise workloads. This is a hands-on engineering role, requiring deep technical expertise in cloud infrastructure design, automation, and cloud network architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a new Cloud Zone (Landing Zone) aligned with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Assess and rationalize existing infrastructure tools to streamline cloud operations and improve automation.
- Lead the build-out of cloud network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, routing, and secure connectivity to on-premise environments.
- Collaborate with security, application, and DevOps teams to ensure operational readiness of the cloud environment.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates and automate environment provisioning.
- Provide technical leadership during cloud migration sprints, ensuring infrastructure scalability and high availability.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks for the new environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and network issues in cloud environments.
- 7+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure build and migration projects.
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (specify platform preference).
- Expertise in Cloud Networking VPC design, peering, VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, security groups, etc.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Solid understanding of tool rationalization processes and experience streamlining infrastructure toolsets.
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting (Python, Bash), and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, etc.).
- Experience integrating cloud security and compliance controls.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams in Agile/DevOps environments.
- Prior experience with large-scale cloud migration programs.
- Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, ECS/EKS/AKS/GKE).
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and connectivity patterns.
- Relevant Cloud Certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect, etc.).
