Job Details
Job Title: ADA Accessibility Tester
Location: Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented ADA Accessibility Tester to evaluate and ensure that our digital products meet accessibility standards, particularly the ADA and WCAG 2.1 (or later) guidelines. The ideal candidate has experience in manual and automated accessibility testing and is familiar with assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice recognition software, and keyboard-only navigation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accessibility testing on websites, mobile apps, and digital documents (PDFs, etc.).
- Use tools like Usable net AQA, Axe, WAVE, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and other assistive technologies to identify accessibility issues.
- Evaluate compliance with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards.
- Document accessibility defects and provide remediation guidance to development teams.
- Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and QA teams to ensure accessible design and implementation.
- Assist in creating accessibility test cases and scripts.
- Stay current on legal accessibility requirements and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accessibility testing for websites and/or mobile apps.
- Knowledge of WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards.
- Familiarity with screen readers and assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver).
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools like Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, or Tenon.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular and ARIA roles.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to clearly document issues and suggest practical remediation steps.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Agile development teams.
- AWS certs as preferred
- Familiarity with digital document accessibility (e.g., PDF, Word).
- Knowledge of usability and inclusive design principles.
