The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Fighters Software Engineering Mid-Level (Level L) Manager to join the Software Organization located in Daytona Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of mission systems software engineers developing real time embedded software for a Fighters Platform in an agile, collaborative environment. Engineers on the team develop software that is responsible for Fighters mission system capabilities. Additionally, you will serve as a business owner on one of the program's agile release trains.

You will work closely with Program Management to perform on our contracts and have frequent customer interactions. The selected candidate will also be responsible for helping to staff up the Daytona Beach site and ensure successful collaboration and knowledge sharing between St. Louis and Daytona Beach to ensure successful execution from this new location.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members
  • Provides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Hires, Manages, develops and motivates employees
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
  • Manage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)
  • Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across various other ARTs on the platform's Solution Train
  • Manage and coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighter
  • Responsible for successfully executing work scope growth and movement from 1 Boeing site to another (STL to Daytona)
  • Fulfills Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties as appropriate for Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking
  • Presents software status as needed to Boeing Program Management and DoD customers and supports the managing of program contracts
  • Ability to travel 10%

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • 5 or more years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Prior experience working on Mission Systems products
  • Experience leading people across multiple work sites and leadership
  • Experience leading teams, ideally software teams
  • Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management

Summary pay range for Experienced Manager: $143,650.00 - $194,350.00.
