Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling Leadership – Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Erwin Data Modeler to support enterprise data initiatives.
  • Business Analysis – Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate data requirements, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Data Product Ownership – Manage assigned data domains throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with governance standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Act as the primary liaison between BI and Data Engineering teams to align semantic layers, models, and reporting structures.
  • Standards & Governance – Enforce data modeling and architecture standards, naming conventions, and best practices across all initiatives.
  • Requirement Translation – Translate analytical and operational requirements into technical specifications, supporting both self-service BI and enterprise data warehouse projects.
  • Metadata & Data Lineage – Partner with Data Governance to maintain metadata repositories, lineage documentation, and business glossaries.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Data Modeler or in a related enterprise data role.
  • Proficiency with Erwin Data Modeler.
  • Strong expertise in relational and Kimball dimensional modeling techniques.
  • Experience designing and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
  • Strong SQL development skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience working with Azure and other modern cloud-based data platforms.

REQUIRED
  • Platforms: Azure Data Services, Microsoft Fabric (exposure preferred).
  • Tools: Erwin Data Modeler, SQL.
  • Data Architecture: Relational modeling, dimensional modeling, ERDs, semantic layer design.
  • Concepts: Metadata management, data lineage, governance, and observability frameworks.
  • Collaboration: Experience bridging BI, data engineering, and business stakeholders.

PREFERRED
  • Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 concepts.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and Databricks.
  • Experience with Wherescape, DBT, or streaming tools (e.g., Striim).
  • Background in AI/ML data preparation workflows.
