Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer with strong expertise in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of S/4HANA, clean core development principles, and hands-on experience integrating SAP with cloud and third-party platforms. This role requires someone who can work independently, proactively, and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Clean Core Backend Solutions within S/4HANA using modern ABAP practices.

  • Build In-App Extensions leveraging RAP, BAdIs, CFL, and extensibility frameworks.

  • Develop and optimize CDS Views, Analytical CDS, AMDP, OData services, and custom reports.

  • Work with EML, Application Job Templates, and RAP core concepts for business object development.

  • Integrate S/4HANA with SAP BTP, SAP HANA Cloud, and external systems using APIs, events, and destination services.

  • Utilize SAP BTP services including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, CAP, and SAP Build Work Zone.

  • Implement and enhance solutions using AIF, Adobe Forms, and BRF+.

  • Ensure all developments adhere to SAP Clean Core Guidelines and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and optimize performance across backend and interface layers.

  • Collaborate with architects, functional consultants, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

  • Work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and proactively drive tasks to completion.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in SAP ABAP development.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in:

    • ABAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model)

    • SAP BTP Development (Cloud Foundry, Kyma, CAP)

    • S/4HANA Backend Development

    • CDS, Analytical CDS, AMDP, OData

    • API-based Integrations

    • EML, RAP BO modeling, and extensibility concepts

    • CFL for Business Object Extensions

    • AIF, Adobe Forms, BRF+

Platform & Integration:

  • Experience integrating S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud, and external third-party systems using destinations and APIs.

  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture, queues, and messaging patterns.

  • SAP Build Work Zone configuration exposure is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
