Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer Network & Firewall Security

Location: Local Remote (Raleigh, NC)
Pay rate:$75.oo/hr on W2

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring the technological and digital security of the Bank, applying advanced technical expertise to mitigate exposure to cyber threats, security risks, and unauthorized access. The role involves assessing organizational networks, systems, and applications for potential vulnerabilities and protecting critical assets and information.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of network and firewall security technologies and will play a key role in resolving security incidents, strengthening defenses, and maintaining awareness of evolving cybersecurity threats and technologies. This position may also guide or mentor less experienced associates within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and secure organizational networks, systems, and applications against security vulnerabilities.
  • Detect, respond to, and resolve security issues and incidents in a timely manner.
  • Implement and manage firewall configurations, rules, and policies.
  • Protect Bank assets through proactive monitoring and remediation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and threat vectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in cybersecurity posture.
  • Utilize scripting and automation (e.g., Python) to enhance firewall management and integrations.
  • Provide mentorship or guidance to junior team members as needed.

Required / Desired Skills:

  • Palo Alto Firewalls (including Panorama): In-depth knowledge is highly desired.
  • ZScaler: Required experience or familiarity.
  • Network Traffic Troubleshooting: Basic troubleshooting skills are required.
  • NSX Firewalls: Working knowledge is required.
  • Python Scripting (especially using APIs to interact with firewalls): Nice to have, but not mandatory.
