Position: Senior Java Big Data Engineer
Location: Onsite- Santa Clara, CA (Relocation is fine)
Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer with deep expertise in Big Data technologies and Kubernetes to build and optimize scalable, containerized data platforms. You will drive development of high-performance applications, manage distributed systems, and ensure seamless orchestration in cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust Java-based applications integrated with Big Data ecosystems (e.g., HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive).

  • Design and deploy microservices using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Kustomize, and operators.

  • Optimize scripting for automation, data pipelines, and system internals (schedulers, controllers, API server).

  • Collaborate on distributed storage solutions like TSDB, Redis, and Airflow.

  • Troubleshoot and enhance performance in large-scale data environments.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Excellent hands-on experience with Java, Python, and shell scripting.

  • Strong scripting/programming skills.

  • Strong background in Docker, containerization, and microservices architecture.

  • Expertise with Kubernetes internals (schedulers, controllers, API server, etc.).

  • Proficiency with Helm, Kustomize, and Kubernetes operators.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience supporting distributed TSDB, Redis, Airflow.

  • Experience with VictoriaMetrics is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with Big Data components (HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive, or similar) is a plus.
