Rate - DOE
1 Oracle DBA:
The DBA should have at least 8 years of industry hand-on experience in managing Oracle databases.
1.1 Oracle DBA Responsibilities:
Advanced Troubleshooting:
Resolve complex database issues that L1 and L2 support teams cannot.
Performance Tuning:
Analyze and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing
solutions to improve query execution times.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
Design, implement, and manage solutions like Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard for ensuring
high availability and enabling seamless failover in case of disaster.
Database Security:
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data, including user access control,
encryption, and auditing.
Database Upgrades and Migrations:
Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations to new versions or platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to
business operations.
Capacity Planning:
Monitor database resource utilization and proactively plan for future capacity needs, including storage, CPU, and
memory.
Documentation:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and
troubleshooting steps.
Technical Leadership:
Provide guidance and mentorship to L1 and L2 DBAs, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Collaboration:
Work closely with application development teams, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless
integration and operation of database systems.
Proactive Monitoring and Maintenance:
Implement proactive monitoring strategies to identify and address potential issues before they impact users,
ensuring database stability and performance.
Implementation of New Technologies:
Evaluate and introduce new database technologies and tools to improve performance, security, and efficiency.
Database Design and Architecture:
Contribute to the design and architecture of new database systems, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and meet
business requirements.
Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing:
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including regular testing to ensure business continuity.
1.2 Skills and Experience for Oracle DBA:
Strong Oracle Database Administration experience:
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, administration, and troubleshooting.
Expertise in SQL and PL/SQL:
Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard:
Proficiency in implementing and managing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Proficiency in database monitoring and performance tuning tools:
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools for monitoring and optimizing database
performance.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills:
Ability to quickly identify and resolve complex database issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills:
Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with database security best practices:
Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.
2 SQL Server DBA:
The DBA should have at least 8 years of industry hand-on experience in managing SQL server databases.
2.1 SQL DBA Responsibilities:
Advanced Troubleshooting:
Investigating and resolving complex database issues that L1 and L2 DBAs cannot resolve, including performance
