Must-Have Expertise
- Strong knowledge of investment banking, with a particular focus on capital allocation and capital turnover related to derivatives, especially Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS).
- Solid understanding of key business drivers in the securitization space, including risk assessment, hedge positioning, and asset structuring.
- Solid understanding of private credit domain, with the ability to navigate complex financial instruments and assess credit risk in non-traditional lending environments.
Mortgage & Real Estate Domain (Preferred)
- Understanding of residential mortgage products, loan origination, and securitization.
- Experience working with or analysing REITs, mortgage lenders, or specialty finance firms.
- Strong grasp of corporate finance concepts including ROE, leverage, and cost of capital.
- Knowledge of real estate finance, including MBS.
- Familiarity with REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with capital markets, hedging strategies, allocation margins, and risk management.
Planning and Execution
- Program Managers are responsible for defining the strategic direction of programs. This includes setting objectives, defining scope, building roadmaps, and creating detailed project timelines. They ensure alignment with organizational goals and oversee the execution from inception to delivery
Cross-Functional Leadership
- They lead cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, architects, QA, and business analysts. Their role involves ensuring that all team members are aligned with the program s goals and have the resources needed to succeed
Budget and Financial Oversight
- Program Managers manage program budgets, track expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions when necessary. They are accountable for delivering within financial constraints while maximizing value
Stakeholder and Client Engagement
- They serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, senior leadership, and delivery teams. Responsibilities include managing expectations, facilitating communication, and resolving conflicts
Risk and Issue Management
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks is a critical function. Program Managers implement risk management frameworks and maintain decision logs, assumptions, and contingency plans
Reporting and Documentation
- They maintain comprehensive documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and budget updates. Regular updates to stakeholders and leadership are part of their communication cadence
