RPG Senior Associate Developer Contract
Hybrid in Tampa, FL

Location: Hybrid in Tampa, FL
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: (Initial period TBD)
Full-Time / Part-Time: Full-Time

Must-Haves
10 15 years of relevant experience, including:
- RPG/400, RPG-ILE, RPG Free
- CL programming
- IBM DB2 and SQL
- Service Programs, ILE Modules, bound programs, binding directories
- Exposing iSeries programs for web applications (e.g., stored procedures, web services)
- Strong leadership and ability to direct other developers
- Project management across full lifecycle
- Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Dress Code
Business casual during remote and onsite phases
Professional attire may be required for client-facing meetings
Deal Breakers
- Insufficient RPG or CL experience
- No exposure to IBM DB2/SQL
- Inability to lead or mentor developers
- Unwillingness to transition to hybrid onsite work upon FTE conversion
- Poor communication or inability to work under pressure
Role Overview
As a Senior Associate, RPG Developer, you will lead development efforts and support the creation and maintenance of cost-effective application software. You ll apply your deep knowledge of tools, concepts, and principles to deliver software solutions that directly support business needs across internal platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and systems teams to design, develop, and maintain
applications supporting client's Tampa Operations.
- Recommend improvements to development methodologies and environments.
- Perform complex programming using RPG.
- Design and support multi-platform systems to enhance productivity and reusability.
- Translate business models into detailed system specifications.
- Assist in creating test plans and debugging programs.
- Analyze job requests for feasibility and system impact.
- Execute assignments aligned with business strategies and initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Aldon Change Management tool
- Familiarity with IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client (Eclipse)
- Comfortable working in a Windows desktop environment
