Job Details
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and coordinate the enterprise-wide migration from Okta Identity Provider (IdP) to Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD / Entra ID) for Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity management. This role is critical to ensuring a secure, seamless, and minimally disruptive transition for users across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the IdP/SSO migration project from Okta to Azure AD
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT security, infrastructure, IAM, application owners, and business stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including timeline, scope, resource allocation, milestones, and risk assessments
- Partner with internal IAM engineers, Azure AD architects, and third-party vendors as needed
- Maintain a detailed inventory of SSO-integrated applications (SAML, OIDC, WS-Fed) and lead prioritization for phased cutovers
- Define and manage testing plans, communication strategies, and change management processes
- Facilitate regular project meetings, status reporting, and executive updates
- Ensure strict compliance with security, privacy, and audit requirements throughout the migration
- Lead the decommissioning of Okta post-migration, ensuring all apps and authentication mechanisms have transitioned
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within enterprise IT or cybersecurity
- Proven success leading identity and access management (IAM) or SSO/IdP-related projects
- Familiarity with Okta, Azure Active Directory (Azure AD/Entra ID), SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Strong understanding of application authentication/integration patterns
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing complex IT infrastructure migrations with minimal business disruption
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, Agile/Scrum, or other project management certification(s)
- Experience with Microsoft tools such as Azure DevOps, PowerShell, or Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Background in cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, or IAM governance
