We are seeking a Network Support Specialist to join our team. This role will involve updating and organizing network cabling documentation, managing cable cleanup, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation of fiber and copper connections. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber cabling standards, Microsoft Office tools, and network documentation practices.

The Network Support Specialist will assist in updating network cabling documentation, performing light cleanup in network closets, and managing cable organization.

Responsibilities:

• Document current copper and fiber connections in network data closets.
• Update Excel spreadsheets with accurate connection details.
• Use laptop and label printer to create and apply labels for fiber patch panels and cables.
• Notify the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure of any identified issues or concerns.
• Perform light cleanup of debris and manage cable organization in network closets.
• Adhere to the company dress code (business casual Monday Thursday, jeans allowed on Fridays).

Required Skills:

• Strong visual acuity for reading and verifying cable labels (5+ years).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams, OneDrive) and basic Windows navigation (8+ years).
• Knowledge of fiber cabling types (single-mode, multi-mode) and connector standards (ST, SC, LC, MPO, RJ45, etc.) (3+ years).
• Ability to trace, label, and document cables in an active working environment (5+ years).
