The Data Center Migration Solutions Engineer/Architect is responsible to solution, plan, co-ordinate and help execute the migration of infrastructure workloads from legacy data center to one of the preferred landing zones - UHG Datacenters or Cloud. This individual will work closely with business partners/non-integrated entities to develop a migration strategy, coordinate with stakeholders, perform assessments, validate the migration plan and execute the migration. The role is critical in ensuring the success of data center migration projects and minimizing the risk of downtime or data loss.
Workloads in acquired entities can include applications and data supporting government contracts. These will require special handling and understanding of the enhanced security requirements involved. The candidate must be a US onshore resource with experience in working with government application hosting and infrastructure architecture.

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. Primary Responsibilities:
- Support enterprise priorities to consolidate legacy/acquired datacenters and drive cloud adoption by successfully consulting, designing and implementing multiple, concurrent infrastructure migration initiatives in a large-scale, fast-paced, cross-functional, enterprise environment, while aligning with UHG standards and best practices
- Architect and design end-to-end migration solutions to migrate applications and workloads from legacy datacenter infrastructure to UHG Datacenters or Cloud Virtual Environment (ex. GCVE)
- Act as a consultant to guide and advise clients on migration strategies, best practices, and potential challenges associated with moving to UHG hosting solutions/cloud
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements, technical constraints, and develop comprehensive migration plans
- Conduct assessments of existing systems, networks and infrastructure to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization
- Provide expert guidance on choosing appropriate On-prem/cloud services and resources to support clients' business needs, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate and collaborate with peer technical teams to configure and deploy resources, including virtual machines, networks, storage, and security components, adhering to enterprise best practices and Public Cloud guidelines
- Collaborate with peer teams to implement data migration strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity throughout the process
- Streamline migration processes, ensure consistency and enhance efficiency through automation, AI and innovative solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the migration process, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize impact on business operations
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in Data center and cloud technologies, actively contributing to the improvement of migration methodologies, tools, and consulting practices

Required Qualifications:
- 14+ years of experience as an Infrastructure Systems engineer, Architect, Consultant with a focus on migrating Data centers to other on-premises environments or Public Cloud
- 8+ years of experience with VMware virtualization technologies - ESX, NSX, HCX
- 8+ years of experience working with networks - SDWAN, Overlays, underlays, VPN, Load balancers, Firewalls, DNS, security best practices and data protection
- 8+ years of experience with designing, consulting, and implementing migration strategies, including assessment, planning, and execution
- 8+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
- Knowledge of Cloud Platform services, including GCVE, Compute Engine, VPC, Storage, Networking, and Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cloud certification (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS)
- Proven excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions
- Proven solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult and collaborate effectively with clients, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale migration projects, providing consulting services, and achieving client satisfaction
- Demonstrated aability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
