Job Summary
JetCool, a Flex company, is seeking to add a Mechanical Development Engineer to our team. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible to collaborate on the mechanical design activity implementing innovative and cost effective product solutions in order to support the organization from prototype development through full-scale production.
What a typical day looks like:
  • Develop manufacturable mechanical designs to achieve system interface and structural requirements using SOLIDWORKS CAD
  • Apply first principles in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer to analyze design concept thermal performance
  • Apply analysis and simulation tools (e.g. thermal and structural FEA, CFD) for product development and refinement
  • Implement in-house prototyping tools to generate, evaluate, and select concepts
  • Assemble engineering drawings and engage with external vendors to procure parts and hardware
  • Design rigorous experiments to verify product specifications and design features
The experience we are looking to add to the team:
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering) and 5-7+ years work experience, or similar background, in thermal and / or fluids engineering
  • Excellent first principles knowledge in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Comfortable interfacing with fabrication partners and suppliers to deliver high quality parts on time
  • Demonstrated ability with hands-on builds/projects
  • Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD and drawing packages

Pay Range (Applicable to Massachusetts)

$80,400.00 USD - $110,600.00 USD Annual
