Power BI Developer

STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States and with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and more including internationally in Mexico and India.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Developer to join our team and lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced data visualization and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of hands-on experience working with Power BI, a deep understanding of data modeling and DAX, and a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic vision for Power BI implementation aligned with organizational objectives.


• Lead full lifecycle Power BI development projects, including data acquisition, transformation, and dashboard/report creation.


• Design scalable, efficient data models in Power BI; utilize DAX to create advanced metrics and calculations.


• Create visually compelling and user-friendly dashboards that deliver actionable business insights.


• Write and optimize DAX expressions for calculated columns, measures, and calculated tables to ensure performance and accuracy.


• Conduct regular code reviews and enforce Power BI development best practices.


• Optimize report performance by refining DAX queries, optimizing data models, and implementing caching strategies.


• Apply and maintain data governance policies specific to Power BI environments.


• Work with data stewards to uphold data integrity, compliance standards, and secure handling of sensitive data.


• Implement role-based access controls to manage user permissions effectively within Power BI.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.


• Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.


• Proven experience optimizing Power BI performance and scalability.


• Strong understanding of data governance, access control, and secure data handling.


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments and levels of the organization.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $55- 65/per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
